Zagreb diary – Days 3&4

My short but lovely trip has come to an end and tomorrow is the time to go back home to a super freezing Helsinki. I haven’t missed that crazy cold at all, but I’m happy to go back home, finish the renovation (finally) and start decorating and organising the apartment.

Last two days were such a blast in Zagreb! I went to numerous places and have been walking for hours and hours. I can definitely feel it in my legs now 🙂 I have checked out National theatre, cathedral, famous St. Mark’s church and Croatian parliament, Museum of broken relationships ( the coolest place ever ), Stone gate, etc. When it comes to food, I didn’t know that Zagreb has such an amazing array of wonderful restaurants. There’s everything for everybody! I have enjoyed eating my lunch at restaurants Carpaccio and Kisha, as much as I did enjoy in my deserts at Aida and Amelie cake cafes.

Zagreb diary – Days 1&2

Hello everybody! Here’s a little diary and breakdown of first two days spent in Zagreb. I’ve been travelling most of the 1st day, so big part of the trip was all about spending time in the air and at the airports. I’ve found a new favourite lunch place at Frankfurt airport – Deli Bros. They make delicious and fresh food which was perfect for me since I never eat the airplane food.

Good Thursday everyone!!

I’ve been a bit quiet on my blog lately. I feel that this year started way too hectic for me + my flat still looks like a big dumpster thanks to all the renovation that is taking longer than what I have thought it would. All of my things are either in boxes or in some messy corner inside these 80 square meters. It’s easy to loose your inspiration when it comes to clothing, so I just put on the first thing I find in the morning and try that the outfits don’t look completely miss-matched. Next week I’ll be on a trip to Zagreb so I will have more time and inspiration to post new interesting posts, so bare with me for a few more days 🙂

Yesterday was the 1st full real winter day! We got snow and that beautiful “Winter Wonderland” scenery is all around and it feels nice for a change. We also got some sun which is so refreshing because I don’t remember when was the last time I saw it, seriously! Finland can be really tough with all the darkness going on for long periods, but once the sun is out – you really appreciate it and suck in all the energy that sun rays are shining on you 🙂

How was your weekend people? I hope that you had a good one. We are still in the middle of renovation of the flat, but it should be ready end of this week. This week is very important for me. First of all, my little daughter is turning 5 and also my very first professional website is going online and I’m so excited about it! Can’t wait to show it to you!

Woah! Time flies so fast once again and I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. I’m definitely not having so much fun while the time is passing by, lots of stress, renovation of the flat, lots of work and some health issues, but hopefully in a month or two from now I’ll get a breather and go for a nice short trip somewhere, but for now, I have booked the trip to Croatia’s capital city Zagreb and am looking fw going there in two weeks since I haven’t been there in years and now I have a great excuse to go there ( making my new passport ).

I had last meeting yesterday morning regarding my official photography website and it will go online in 6 days, exactly on my daughter’s 5th birthday and yes, it’s purposely like that. 😉

Good evening everyone! It’s Monday and once again a holiday, so I would like to wish a Merry Christmas to everybody who’s celebrating today and tomorrow. I’m having a small “home-escape” time for a few days since it’s impossible to live in my flat right now during the renovation, so I’m taking the advantage of staying in the city centre and being able to walk everywhere I feel like.

This morning I went to the cinema with my daughter and for lunch we had a small family gathering so we went to highly spoked about sushi bar called Fuku. It’s basically a sushi/ Asian buffet and even though I never do the “buffet” unless it’s breakfast at the hotel, this was such a positive surprise. Sushis were so fresh and delicious and there was a whole array of rolls, nigiris, noodles, spicy veggies in curry/ coconut milk sauce, Gyoza dumplings, tempura, etc. I don’t have to even mention that I’m in food comma right now, but it feels so good at the same time 😀

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Before I start my rumblings, I would like to wish you all the best year yet! I hope that you all had fun celebrating while entering 2014. I have a feeling that this year is going to be a blast and can’t wait to see what it has in the store for me.

2013 was very though year for me, I got sick, my mom got sick, so many things and relationships were/ have fallen apart that at some point last year I have wondered what’s the point of waking up day after day just to see my life fall apart piece by piece… Then again, when I look back, I’ve had one of the most significant and path turning years. I’ve learned many lessons the though way, but they made me much stronger person and I could also for the first time get to know myself in and out, see my visions clearer than ever and also learn what are the things that matter the most in life.

I have celebrated Day before Christmas with my Finnish family in a traditional Finnish way, but today, on Christmas, we’ll celebrate it in Croatian/ Russian way (even though Russians are celebrating Christmas in January).

Hello lovely people! I hope that you’re having an easy going Monday afternoon, that all of your Christmas shopping is done, presents are wrapped and that you are ready for two days filled with joy, family hangout and positive vibes.

Since I’m living in Finland and I was born in Russia, but lived most of my life in Croatia, we have mixed kind of Christmas traditions in our family, so what we do is that on 24th we celebrate traditional Finnish Christmas and then on 25th we celebrate our own/ modern-day version of Christmas with lots of Russian and Croatian food.
