Give my heart to

November 7, 2016

I love book shops… Yes, I’m that girl which is “old fashioned” and will always prefer having a physical book or CD in her hands than to buy it online as kindle or just have it downloaded on my iTunes. As I’m browsing through the rows of massive amount of books, looking for some inspiration as well as a possible Christmas presents to some of my dear people, I come across a book… Book which imprinted a “WHAT?!” type of grin on my face.

Book is titled “The highly sensitive person”. Could this be true? Could it be for real that somebody else is feeling the way I do and it’s nothing to be ashamed of or nothing that is wrong about me, but it REALLY does exist! A person who is sensitive in a sense that for example a certain movie, music, sound, picture, person will tick off a certain flow of feelings… Feelings so strong and real that they consume you! At times, those feelings consume you in the best way possible with a huge dose of energy and creativity, while at times, they drain you… For the highly sensitive people like myself, it doesn’t take much to react to or absorb everything that’s surrounding us.

fashionblogger

I have always thought that something is “off” or wrong about me for always feeling so much and everything so deeply. I knew from the start that it won’t be easy to live with this type of personality.. .The one that always cares, sees, wants and feels more than others… The one that carries her heart in her hands and not locked, deep down inside of her chest.

Giving my heart comes natural and “easy” to me, because that’s what I as a highly sensitive person do… I feel for others, I feel their suffering as much as I feel their happiness and if I can, in any way possible make up a certain person’s day with my highly sensitive soul and tools that I’ve been given, I will do that without thinking twice.

Feelings are the strangest force in this world! Every war, every fight, every bigger or smaller decision comes from feelings!! Feelings = reaction = situation! Never forget that before you react and conclude something.

More love, more understanding of others… More caring of whom and how we give our heart out to would make us all a bit more sensitive and available to hear and see often than not, somebody else’s happiness, pain, thoughts, worries…

Does high sensitivity come with fragility as well Natalie?
I for myself find it very hard to be around very sensitive people. I read once in a psychology article, very sensitive people are very narcissists and selfish.
During my school my best friend was very sensitive, I had always to say the right words and compliments. Damn stressful if you’re asking me.
I hope I will not be misunderstood with my comment, I would just love to hear your opinion and why not challenge us both.
    Have a nice week!
    Cheers,

Dear Tatjana, first of all THANK YOU for reading and writing this comment! I’m happy to get a feedback and create a discussion.
However, I feel that either I didn’t write clearly enough or you got my text wrong because what I meant with this wasn’t that I’m a
sensitive person in a way that you have to “tip-toe” around me or such, but what I was ( have also mentioned it in the text ) pointing to
was the emotional-sensitive person, the one that is all about feeling everything times 10, so if there is for example a person that I love
struggling with something, I will feel their pain and feel consumed by it, want to help them out and easer their pain as much as possible.
None of the actions and feelings I’m talking about in my text are the selfish ones, quite the opposite.

I feel like on the inside I’m just like you but on the outside I’m exactly the opposite. People tell me I’m cold hearted all the time but in fact most of the times I’m either being practical or I’m just not showing what I truly feel. And I love your outfit, that jacket is gorgeous.

I can see I’m late in having my say on this post. Real books are FAB! Much nicer than E-books, and last almost forever. You cannot put your nose in an E-book and smell the goodness inside. Also, FAB is your outfit.
