New in: Sephora haul

April 21, 2015

Hello, hello! Here’s a bit different post for you! I hope that you’ll find it interesting and most of all helpful. I personally love to see posts like these with some good insight into what’s new in beauty stores and what’s worth investing your money in, rather than just going into the store and picking up whatever you see in that moment not quite sure is it going Β to do the miracles that you’re hoping for and be worth the bucks.

Ever since my move here to LA a month and half ago, my skin has changed from dry and sensitive to dry and oily ( mixed skin ). Dry from the constant sunshine and dry air and oily from all of the pollution from the traffic and due to the fact that I walk absolutely everywhere for many miles a day.

That being said, I was in a BIG need of good exfoliating, reviving and moisturising masks. I went for Boscia, a brand that I have never used before but have only heard amazing things about from all of the beauty gurus out in this space known as internet. πŸ™‚

This green tea mask was the most amazing “in-home” treatment I’ve ever experienced. It wasn’t a regular kind of mask that I’m used to ( think Lush and Alpivita masks ) but instead it came as a “jelly-pamphlet” that you put on your ( wash and towel-dry beforehand) face, hold for 20 mins and then just take it off and you’re good to go. My skin was singing “hallelujah” afterwards and I could def. feel that a “dirty layer” was taken off of my face.

I still have to try the cleansing gel, but judging by this amazing mask, I’m sure that I’ll like it. πŸ™‚ It’s without the parabens, sulphites, promises to cleanse your pores while not stripping your skin and keeps it hydrated.

Next up is Ole Henriksen’s serum “Truth serum – collagen booster”. I can say that I’ve been pretty good in terms of taking care of my skin and using only the right and the best products for it, as well as never falling asleep with my make up on, drinking enough of liquid on daily basis and such, I am getting closer and closer to 30s and I think that it’s never too early to start adding some more extra care to my skin by introducing some more “powerful” serums than the ones that I’ve been using by now. I still have some of my Chanel serum left, but when that’s finished I’ll test the Truth serum and will let you know how it works for me. It promises to support natural collagen production, brighten and minimise fine lines and leave your skin healthy and protected.

One of new, cool “discoveries” in LA was the Drybar saloons! If you haven’t heard about them or are living outside the States, it’s a hair saloon but they only do the blowouts and hairstyles. They don’t colour or cut your hair. Let’s say, you have a date, a job interview, an event to attend at, just go to the Drybar, tell them what you need and they’ll do a perfect blowout or even an “uptini”. πŸ™‚ When I saw that Sephora sells their products I’ve decided to pick up this hairspray and heat protector cream. So far so good, thumbs up for both of these products!

I totally suck in eyeliners! That’s why you never see me “sporting” a cat eye make up or something like that. I did dare to try my luck with “They’re real” eyeliner by Benefit as it’s supposed to be an eyeliner for dummies. I can’t wait to challenge myself and perfect the eyeliner look, that would be SO cool. πŸ˜€

I was in need of some eyeshadow brushes, so I’ve picked up 3 different ones from Hourglass. Totally worth every penny!

Last thing from this haul is my long time trusted charcoal mask by Origins. It’s hands down, one of the best face masks and beauty products in general that I have ever used. I can see that it will be more than beneficial product in my beauty routine here in LA since it’s the most powerful mask to get out all of the toxins and dirt that get “stuck” on my skin. Without masks like these and clearing up the top “layer”, no matter how great serum or cream you put on your face, nothing will go through and the effect of both will be minimal.

Great haul my lovely Natali, I would love to try that collagen booster ! The only thing I have and didn’t like is the push up liner…I was so eager to have it cause I use they’re real mascara and love it, but the liner is somehow dry and the lines come out too thick…a big disappointment, let me know if it was only my experience and how do you like it !
