Visit Helsinki series have been one of the most read and also my personal favourite articles on the blog, therefore it doesn’t come as a surprise that they’ve been a constant on my blog for more than 2 years. Visit Helsinki? Why would somebody want to visit the capital of the Santa Land, esp. when it comes to a foodie experience? Well, there are many reasons why to visit this unique city which keeps on evolving in every direction all the time, food scene being one of them.
I’m not sure how many of you have watched or remember the legendary TV series “Cheers”? That little cafe where “everybody knows your name”? Yep, that’s how I feel each time I step inside of Yume restaurant, as my second home, place where everybody knows my name and every time I come there, I know that I’m up for a special treat. Ever since discovering Yume’s fusion flavours bringing us the best of tastes of Asia, I have been a devoted fan of their kitchen and vision. After following through their 4 menu changes, I can only say that they’ve been getting more and more inspiring with the selection of dishes on the menu and the way how they get the best out of each dish is still unresolved mystery to me. 😀 How can they deliver at all times with all of the dishes on the menu? I mean, their sides are equally mind-blowing too.
There is a saying that love goes through stomach. I can absolutely confess that I did let my heart skip a beat or two each time I ate great food. I’m thankful for being able to explore different cuisines and restaurants in the past and esp. throughout the last year. I could have never believed that I could fall for some food so much that I just had to keep on coming back over and over again for more. 🙂
This Sunday is a perfect day to continue with my “Visit Helsinki” series of posts in which I recommend you the places of my choice which you could visit when in Helsinki, from places to dine at to places to shop at, hotels to stay at, etc. After many amazing restaurants which I have presented you so far, which many of them were Asian, I simply had to present you Tokyo55. Japanese restaurant, catering and a sushi academy were opened back in 2009 and up until this day, it stayed one of the locals’ favourite place to go and enjoy, for example, fresh and delicious Tokyo55’s signature sushi rolls.
Hello my dear readers! I have a new post ready for you from my series of “Visit Helsinki” posts in which I present you the best places in my city where to go dining, shopping, exploring, hotels to stay at, etc. I’m so glad that the response to these kind of posts has been so welcoming and accepting that I’m more than excited to continue bringing you and discovering you the real gems that Helsinki has to offer, no matter if you’re a local or a tourist, this city has a lot to offer and I’m here to prove that with my “Visit Helsinki” posts. 🙂
When a sweet couple, Simon and Annika had a dream about a restaurant where all of their friends would like to hang out, something small but vibrant with the good atmosphere, delicious food and their favorite music, little did they knew that the dream was about to come true very soon!?
If you know me at all by reading this blog and by checking my Instagram account, you might have concluded by now how impressed and in love I am with anything Asian, esp. Japanese food, language and traditions. After travelling around the Europe and US, I have experienced wonderful Japanese/ Asian fusion restaurants, out of some have Michelin stars, but little did I know that I would get so positively surprised by discovering some real gems in my own hometown, Helsinki.
