Visit Croatia: D-Resort Sibenik

August 7, 2017

If you didn’t know, Croatia has been the hottest Summer vacation destination in Europe for the last couple of years. It’s been the most wanted pick by many this Summer especially. When tourists, wanderers, nomad souls are looking for a place to visit in Croatia where they will get the maximum of beautiful and clean beaches, delicious Mediterranean food and great hospitality, they usually are all having different preferences when it comes to places to stay at. Some will opt for Airbnb, some will like the affordable and no fuss hostels, while others will want to go “all the way out” and enjoy their vacation to the max by choosing to stay at high standard hotels such as D-Resort for instance.Β

D-Resort hotel can be found in Sibenik, accompanied by it’s own marina. This modern, architecturally impressive and unique hotel has been built 3 years ago at a location which used to be an army territory with prison cells. Once you see a beautiful nature which surrounds this hotel, breathtaking view over the city of Sibenik and never-ending, deep blue sea you will realise that it would have been such a big waste of an incredible location which is now rightfully owned by Dogus group from Turkey.

If it wouldn’t be for the Dogus group and their vision of offering something new and completely different from their competitors in a bit “dusty” and mundane town of Sibenik, who knows for how long this location would still be abandoned and a home to only wild grass and (from Yugoslavian war) army buildings.

As soon as D-Resort had been built and opened, it has attracted a big interest not just from the locals but from the whole country as well as visitors from the abroad. Those who are in search of prime hospitality, peaceful but yet very much interesting and active holidays, will find themselves loving what D-Resort has to offer as it will exceed their expectations in every way.

D-Resort is exactly that, not just a hotel but a whole mini resort, I’d say a mini city itself. πŸ™‚ Besides the hotel and marina, on this same property you will also find villas, Yacht club restaurant and bar, open pool, shops, cafes, Β Spa, gym, meeting rooms, etc. It takes time and effort to build a strong team and lead it well, but one of the main people and a marketing expert of D-Resort, Miss Suncica got all of the “ropes” in her hands and is very confident when talking about what sets D-Resort apart from the hotels nearby. I must say that all of the staff at D-Resort have been so professional, welcoming and knowledgable that I couldn’t wait to discover this resort on my own and also with a guidance by the staff.

Hotel had been designed by famous local architect Mr. Niko Basic, a true virtuoso I must say. Even though he doesn’t like the fact that many people say that the hotel looks and gives out vibes of a ship, I must say that I have to agree that it does since that was my first thought and later on, an overall impression.

All of the rooms, including the suites have reminded me of a luxurious ship cabins. All of the rooms were letting in a lot of natural light, had big windows and were minimalistic but perfectly feng shui like. πŸ™‚ Hotel’s restaurant serves breakfast and dinner but for lunch, you’ll have to go for a short walk to the nearby Yacht club where you can enjoy your lunch by the table or by the pool with some refreshing cocktails. If you fancy a massage, Turkish sauna or a quick spin at the gym, all of that you can do at the Spa next door.

I think that I have already written a lot of text and put a lot of eye catching photos and I think that by this point, I have managed to awake your interest in D-Resort. Don’t waste a single moment but book your room online and take a trip to an historical and impressive (also Game of Thrones location) city of Sibenik. You won’t regret it, I promise!

*Thank you to whole D-Resort team, esp. Miss Suncica. Thank you to Mrs. Meri from Dogus group for organising everything.
