Superesse

You might be wondering what does the title of this post even mean?! Superesse means “to survive” in Latin and when you think about that word, it’s such a powerful word. It awakens so many feelings, memories, fighting spirit… At least that’s the case with me!

To survive is something that I have learned to do so well in these 28 years of my life. I had many different situations that needed special set of skills to be survived. Starting from the war times in Croatia, surviving without much food and running away from the bombs, to my mom fighting with the cancer and me being her support, shaving her hair off while making jokes in order to help her and myself to overcome that moment, to survive… After that, there were still plenty moments and situations in my life that I needed to overcome and find a way how to survive them. Fast forward, surviving became something I’ve practiced so well that it made me realise that we all have it in us! We have the tools, smarts and strength to survive anything and everything! When you put your mind into something, you make a plan, you see the goal and you keep on going in that direction no matter how many scars you’ll get on the way and how many times it will be easier to stay in the same spot and just say : “To hell with it!” You keep on walking until you reach the goal, until you have survived…

Life is not just about surviving, I always say that, life is so much more, but being able to survive and to know that there is a solution to every problem… That fact gives you a peace of mind and helps you to look at the certain situation from a “different angle”.

If you’re atm having problems and feel like there is no way out or that you’ve been thrown around way too many times by the wild rivers of life… Hold on strong, keep on going and focus on the goal… Where do you want to be? The road will unfold itself, just keep on moving not minding the obstacles.

Take this from a woman that has learned to swim out each time I get pulled down! 🙂
