My holidays are coming to their end and before I serve you up with couple of posts from Croatia, I’d like to present you with third hotel from Helsinki city which I’ve collaborated with as part of my “Visit Helsinki” series of posts in which I recommend you places to stay at, visit and dine at in Helsinki.
Just like hotels Indigo and Kämp stood out with their uniqueness and policy, same goes for hotel Helka and this is the reason why I’m presenting it to you. It’s not just an ordinary hotel or part of en endless chain that looks and offers exactly the same as any other, same ranked hotel.
Hotel Helka is owned by the oldest women’s organisations in Finland, YWCA and their goal is to empower girls and women by promoting gender equality and that human rights, welfare, freedom, justice, etc. are guaranteed to all.
All of the profits from Hotel Helka go directly to the work of YWCA, so by staying at this hotel, not just that you’ll enjoy the comfort of your hotel room or maybe a nice reading corner of hotel Helka’s bar, but you will also do a good, charitable act.
If you pass by this hotel, from the outside, the looks are not what would most possibly drive you in. It’s situated in the core of the city centre – Kamppi and very nearby the Natural History museum. It’s “tucked” inside an old building, but once you DO enter inside, there’s a pure magic awaiting… From a mini pop up gallery with an exhibition of paintings and jewellery to the Helka’s bar completely furnished with Finnish design. One of the cutest and very Finnish traditional kitchen will be at the service of your taste buds at Helka’s Keittiö ( Helka’s kitchen ).
At Helka’s kitchen you can enjoy a breakfast buffet with typical choices of “Scandi” breakfast or you might wanna take your partner on a dinner date and enjoy a full course menu/ a la carte of local specialities such as Finnish tapas or roasted salmon.
This hotel has a fully equipped/ working Finnish sauna for men and women. One other thing that this hotel prides themselves with is a free and very fast working wi-fi connection. For somebody who works from her laptop this is a very important fact that I always check when I’m deciding on which hotel I should pick to stay at.
To conclude this post, I can warmly recommend you to stay at hotel Helka for many reasons, comfort, proximity of the city centre, fair prices and great service are definitely the top ones.
If you’re planning a trip to Helsinki anytime soon, if you book this hotel via it’s homesite, by using the code “pinkhelsinki” you will get 20% discount on your booking. Hurry up!! 😀
*This post was made in collaboration with Hotel Helka. All of the opinions are my own.
*Thank you Mrs. Jutta for making this collaboration happen.

Looks amazing! You have definitely shared some unique places which are the best kind to visit!
