Hello my dear readers! Here’s one more post from Zagreb, Croatia. Besides my favorite Bistroteka and unique B&B 4 City Windows, I have visited a very much raved about and highly visited restaurant Rougemarin. I’m not a girl that likes to go too much “out of my way” when visiting a new city. Usually, on all of my trips, I try to figure out as many places to visit and dine at that are all nearby where I’m staying at and that I can walk to those places too, so that my use of taxi is minimal or non existent.
I believe that you always get to know new city the best if you just walk around and sometimes get “lost” on purpose. 🙂 However, this time, I have decided to grab a taxi and drive outside the city center in order to reach my target – Rougemarin
Rougemarin is a very popular spot among the Zagreb citizens because they’re a multi place that not just offers you some of the most delicious meals in the city, but they’re kings of perfect burgers, masters at organizing private parties, wedding receptions and are also a catering company.
Upon our arrival to Rougemarin, we were warmly welcomed, seated right away and presented the menu options. There were so many great sounding dishes to choose from, so the process of picking our meals wasn’t an easy task. 🙂 Their menu changes monthly and there’s always a variety of options, so everybody can find something for themselves.
After a bit of negotiating, we’ve decided on tasting the soups as starters ( chestnut and tomato ) and veggie burger with homemade baked potatoes and chicken skewers with teriyaki sauce and scallions on the bed of Jasmin rice as our mains.
There was no space in our bellies for the dessert but Rougemarin are very proud of their dessert menu  too.
Industrial like ( think Nordic design ) interior didn’t make this restaurant a cold or stiff place, actually very opposite, quick and attentive service, skillful waiters and the buzz of the visitors have brought the energy of Rougemarin to a whole new level. This was a very enjoyable and delicious experience!
