Due to quite a few sunny and warm days in the past two weeks, Helsinki got a whole new “coating” of Spring-ish beauty! 🙂 I can’t hide my excitement about the sunshine and much longer days. I almost had to pinch myself when checking at my watch and realising that the daylight lasts past 4 pm.
I know that to many of you this all might sound silly and why would anybody ever give so much importance to the sunny weather or longer daytime, but believe me, after 10 years of living in Northern Europe, lacking light and for most of the year suffering the coldness, snow, slush and rain, one def. appreciates those “little things in life” ; daylight and warmth being some of those.
I remember once thinking that because of being half Russian and born in Moscow, cold or darkness were never going to bother me but I happened to find out that because I did grew up in South of Croatia, after all I am a child of sun and sea so Finnish winters and me, aren’t friends. 🙂
This also reminds me of one of my life mottos: “Darkness can not drive out darkness, only light can do that.” Just like plants need the light and warmth to bloom, I feel that my spirit becomes alive again as the Spring approaches. I feel more and more like myself, energy levels spike up to the max and all I want to do is spend time outdoors in the nature and just bathe in the sunlight.
I know that we’re only bit past the mid of February and up here in North – Spring never really comes before end of the April, but the happy feeling of being able to shop and wear lighter and brighter clothes is unbeatable. 🙂
I have never been a “pink girl” but look at me here, all girly and pink like a bubble gum, hehehe!
Hope that you will get inspired to incorporate more bright and girly pieces like this sweater into your Spring wardrobe; anything pink, baby blue and green will be HUGE trends this coming Spring/ Summer.

I can’t even imagine what winter must be like in Russia. I’ve heard all about it and yet just can’t even begin to fathom it. I’m a fan of winter over summer but I’m not so sure I could handle a northern Russian winter hahaha!

Great suggestion! Pink is a very characteristic and strong color. Sometimes it is difficult to match it with something else. I have a woolen sweater in this color, and I also often combine it with black clothes.
