Being thankful is something that comes (or it should) naturally at this time of the year, yet being thankful somehow comes with a challenge, esp. on Mondays. 😀 Instead of “hating” on Mondays, I like the idea of finding the #mondaymotivation . 🙂 It is all about how and what we set our minds on that will make the difference in our attitude. I feel that Mondays always need some extra positivity boost. There is just something about the beginning of the week complaints which can easily go all the way through to Friday . Balance sheet of the productivity for a week is not very much on the + side then, isn’t it?
When the daylight is getting shorter all the time, temperatures getting lower and lower and the annoying rainy days never seems to end, I find it hard to stay motivated and with a positive spirit so I’ve been making myself find at least 3 things to be thankful about each day.
I’m guilty about not realising how much there is to be thankful for! I def. do know when to be upset if something is missing or something is going wrong, but even when there are bigger things to be thankful about, I seem to just “brush them off” or treat them as a “regularity” instead of really paying attention to how MEANINGFUL something was and how thankful I can be that I have lived to see something happen, come true, be part of, etc.
From the little daily moments to the bigger things, it’s so important to take a moment to reminisce and be genuinely thankful for what you have right now. I do tend to live in the future way too often and think too much of the things and moments that yet need to happen instead of focusing more on now and being happy and thankful about “NOW” because that’s all I really do have.
What am I being thankful for right now? What am I thankful for today? Ask yourself those questions and write down on the paper your answers… You would be surprised of how much there is to be thankful for.
This Monday I’m thankful for:
I woke up/ I’m alive.
Seeing my daughter’s smile and hearing her say “Good morning mama.”
Quick chat with my favourite cafe owner (Kuppi ja Muffini) in the am while getting her delicious porridge “to go”.
Comfiness of and the rooftop view from my office.
Seeing friends while at the same time working with them and coming up with some great ideas.
Walking in the city centre and admiring all the Christmas lights and street decorations.
Enjoying warm matcha tea and matcha doughnut at my zen place, unique Japanese cafe Kamome.
Picking up my daughter from her school and seeing her anti frizz like hair made me have an “inner laugh” with myself.
Coming home and seeing my camera, reminding me of being blessed with a talent a ability to be a photographer.
… and this is only half of Monday’s blessings and things to be thankful for!
