Happy 2017 everybody!!! First post of the new year is here and I wanted to take my time writing it to make sure that I’m publishing the right material. I’m visiting Croatia at the moment and am happy to start this year by travelling and taking some well deserved time off.
I’ve spent couple of days in the capital city, Zagreb and was so happy to meet some of my oldest friends as well as have a coffee with some of my Croatian blogging colleagues. The weather is beautiful and even though it’s been cold, the bright daylight and occasional sun rays made a world of difference in how energetic and happy I feel.
I realised how the Winter ain’t same everywhere and in Helsinki, it’s so harsh, not because of the low temp. which aren’t that far from the Zagreb ones for instance, but the lack of daylight, no sun and the periods of lack of it being so long are what makes it so hard to survive through Finnish Winters.
I couldn’t but notice that every blog post from the blogs I follow in the past few days had the same title “My resolutions for 2017”. While I have nothing against resolutions or making some “deals” with yourself in order to start a new year properly, I do wonder how many of those posts are really thought through, honest resolutions that resonate with the person who wrote them… ? Do all of those girls and boys just follow a trend of “eat better, exercise more, chill more, etc.” or are they really putting down all of their dreams and hopes of the new year into on what’s on the outside and/ or just another person’s resolution after all?
Did you ask yourself what is it that YOU would 100% WANT for you to happen in 2017 and which resolution/ agreement with yourself should you do to make that one thing happen to you for real?
Resolutions, plans, whatever you want to call them are, let’s be honest are short therm lived moments which we never go through with further than March. Usually by March, people don’t even remember what was it they were going to “stick to” or “change” in the beginning of the year.
Just imagine, one wish, one goal, one resolution of what you can do in order to make it happen? You could be in a whole different place in your life, personally or professionally just a year from now if you really know what you want and set all of your plans, intentions and skills into making that one change, that one goal come through and happen for you.
I’d like to wish you all a great start of the new year. I have only one wish for this year and that is to be truly happy. 🙂
