C’est la vie

Look at that, less than 2 weeks left until Christmas! The countdown is “on”! As I have already mentioned, I’ve been loving seeing the Christmas lights, decorations, etc. all over the city and am still in the process of decorating my own home for Christmas too. We got a small Christmas tree with some girly ornaments and all that needs to be done is to take some chilled back moment with my daughter to put it all up nicely.

My new sweatshirt from Zaful was such a fun piece to add to my closet and brighten up my “dull” Winter’s wardrobe. I have been living in Finland for over 9 years and each year, Winter and it’s harsh coldness + huge lack of daylight and sun gets to me more and more. I have truly started to appreciate every single bit of daylight and sun ray there is because life without them is totally miserable… C’est la vie, I have chosen this place to be my home and what once seemed very different, exotic and interesting, wasn’t the best option after all for me, since I’m a child of the Mediterranean and even though I have Russian blood running inside of me, my soul had been sold to the sun and sea… 🙂

If there wouldn’t be all this cheer, magical and sparkle that surrounds Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, I would be already so depressed… So, there is always something good in something “bad” and that’s life too – always look for the silver lining, always look for the goodness in others and everything that surrounds you. It’s all what you’re concentrated at that you will attract more. I don’t think that I can attract any more dark and cold to Finland than there already is in my daily life, but I can choose to shift my mindset and do my best to savour and “live” every moment the best I can without too much thinking about the parts of Winter that don’t affect me well…

Just like you pick your clothes and food, that’s how you can pick your thoughts and actions. You’re responsible for your own happiness – 99% of the time!
