There are some places in Helsinki to which I always gladly return to.If they happen to have great service, are in the city center and are serving a delicious food, most likely you’ll find me sitting at those places while satisfying my inner hedonist which never sleeps. Continue Reading…
First ever to open restaurant by Matti Wikberg and Tomi Björck was Farang. After Farang came another 4 restaurants which create BW restaurants that are equally successful and operating in Helsinki ,Finland and Stockholm, Sweden.
Farang brings your senses on a foodie trip to Southeast Asia, with strong Thai influences, where the “magic” of food lies in sharing it from big bowls and eating a lot of the dishes by using either spoon or with fingers.
Farang tarjoaa Foodie matkan aisteja Kaakkois-Aasiaan, höystettynä Thaimaan vaikutteilla. Täällä ruuan “taika” perustuu jakamiseen isoista kulhoista, syöden joko lusikalla tai sormin.
In my newest post of “Visit Helsinki” cycle of articles, I’m bringing you a full-on review of restaurant Bronda! I did write about this same restaurant a little bit less than a year ago and you can read about it here in case you’ve missed it.
Unlike the 1st time, this time around we’ve been testing out Bronda as a lunch spot and it’s set lunch menu with vegan options too. Even though, it’s not pointed out on Bronda’s website, they do serve vegetarian and vegan options as well as a set menu during lunchtime too. You can either call them in advance and pre-order your vegan/ vegetarian options or you can just walk in and let them surprise you. They’re very skilled personnel, in the kitchen as chefs and as a very friendly and quick service.
Good morning world! I hope that you’re all safely at home with your family and loved ones, ready for the Christmas celebrations and that you will get to relax and enjoy the end of this year in a good and peaceful spirit.
Gaijin is a Japanese word for an “outsider” or “foreigner” . After being an “outsider” for more than 8 years in Helsinki and being a huge Asian food and culture lover, visiting restaurant GAIJIN was more than exciting! I have been to some of the best Asian restaurants in Europe such as Yauatcha in London and in US such as Katana Robata and Matsuhisa (LA) but I must admit that Gaijin impressed me so much. It can easily meet the standards of such high level as the other three mentioned restaurants.
I love Helsinki! Period! 🙂 This city is a little gem in North of Europe and I feel that it somehow get’s “lost” in between Denmark, Sweden and Russia. Only for the past couple of years is that I can see more and more tourists coming and staying in Helsinki, not just passing through/ having a layover.
