I grew up in a small village, while that was a blessing because I was protected at all times and I had a huge freedom of living a carefree childhood, playing for as long as I wanted outdoors, hiding in the forest, just sitting by the sea for an hour or even staying at my friend’s place over for lunch without having to inform my family about it ( there was no cellphones but only phones and after only few phone calls around, my parents would know where I was at ). To some extent, growing up in such a small and closed community, it was a bit of problem for me later on in my life. I was scared of being introduced to new people or go out in a big group of people.

Where is the love?!

June 13, 2016

I’m a person who barely ever watches TV. If I do watch TV then it’s usually Netflix. I never buy newspapers and I usually never read any even if I happen to see some newspapers at the cashier or at a favourite cafe.

I guess that thanks to FaceBook and my active friends, I do stay quite informed about what is going on in the world, but I take everything I read with a grain of salt and a “distant viewer” approach, meaning that I don’t take everything I read to be true, important or as dramatic as media tries to portray it to be.

Media is a powerful tool, I would say that they have the power to ruin and build the world. That is one of the reasons why I filter every news I come across and don’t allow big amounts of unnecessary information bother me. I like to live in “my own world” the one where I’m aware of what is going on around me and I do fulfil my “duties” but I also prefer to stay in that part of my own world which is ruled by love, goodness, inspiration, creativity and music. I live by the rules of heart and commands of the soul and I don’t know for better… No matter how many times I get “screwed” over for giving too much, loving too much and feeling everything so deeply… I end up hurt and upset quite many times, but I can’t live differently… I can’t “harden” my heart, be more thougher, distance myself from who I am by birth.

Ever since I was a little child, I have been led by my holy trinity of three : love, sea and music. If I had those three surrounding me, I was happy. To love and be loved in return is my motto and the biggest blessing and curse in my life. I always love too much, but so often stumble upon “closed” and hard hearts… In the past couple of years I’ve dealt with those kind of hearts too often and it all made me ask myself: “Where is the love?!” Even by filtering all of the media and information that reaches me, I can not understand all of the shootings and bombings going on all over the world. When was the spilling of blood an answer to anything? Who gives the right to a human to lift his/ her hand over the destiny of another person(s)?

Dear people… Hate, envy and darkness aren’t the roads to be followed… We all have the goodness, love and light inside of us, so the more you nurture them, the more they will prevail the dark side of us, which we all have. We are all made of yin and yang, it’s up to us which side we will choose to be. We can’t and won’t be another Mother Theresa and we don’t need to, that’s not what this article is all about, but I can not but not to realise that people have never been more as distant from each other and the source of goodness and love as they are in 2016. Situation needs to change immediately or we’ll be as good as robots and look more of a Arnold Schwarzenegger from the Terminator movie than a beautiful, sensitive and loving human race that we are supposed to be.

Peace, love and understanding… It’s not so hard to remember, acquire and spread these three words/ actions/ feelings. Let’s start today!

My heart goes out to all those affected in Beirut bombing and Florida shooting.

No elevator

April 18, 2016

Ok, ok, I do live in an old building, but it does have an elevator. Nice, old one… With an iron door and a wooden bench, charming one. I never ride that elevator. I live on the 6th floor and I always walk the stairs up, every single day, couple of times a day.

I’m not afraid of elevators ( even though I did get stuck 2-3 times in one of them throughout past 28 years ) but I rather walk the stairs up than take an elevator ride… There’s so much that “happens” on my walk up… Life got a whole another perspective. Now I know that there’s no an elevator to success… There are no shortcuts to “making it” in job, relationships… in life.

The best of times happen on your walk up the stairs. This walk… It might take longer than an elevator ride, it might make your butt cheeks hurt, you might even stop for a moment on your way up to catch a breath, reassess and then keep on walking the mountain of stairs again. True beauty and a key to success in anything lies exactly there, on the wavy and demanding way up. The journey which you decide to walk on every single day and everything that you learn from taking the longer, harder way up ( towards your goal ) is what will make you appreciate ( and cease ) your goal. Once you do reach it, it will give you the feeling and a unique life story that no single elevator ride ever could!

It will teach you survival, it will show you how to fight for your goal, it’ll give you tools and guidance in how to reach it too… Once you do, you’ll then see how the road to that goal has transformed you and opened some new horizons for you, so the road to another goal, dream… success keeps on shaping in the distance and you know that you must keep on moving forward. As long as you do keep on moving forward in life, it means that you’re alive and kicking’. As soon as you stop moving, you’ve signed your death bed papers.

I always say that no matter how much I have done ( and this doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate every single achievement ) I’m only as good as I was yesterday. I’m only as good of a mom as I was up until yesterday, I’m only as good of a photographer as my latest photo, I’m only as good of an influencer as my latest post. Get the picture? Always keep on moving, carving your own path and listen to your own gut on the way… On the way up to your success, with NO elevator ride there.

Have a wonderful Monday my friends! Much love to every single one of you and THANK you for every comment that you leave me here, I read all of them and try my best to answer all of them too. 🙂

I’m wearing: Boots – Chanel, Bag – Borsha, Jeans – Tiger of Sweden, Sweater – Max Mara, Coat – , Ring – Free People, Scarf & necklace – Zara, Coat – Helene Berman

Ask me

March 21, 2016

Happy Spring everybody!!! It surely doesn’t feel like Spring is yet in Helsinki, but we’re getting there, we are.. 😀 I’m super excited about finally being able to pull out lighter clothes from my closet, ditch the Winter boots for many months and start planning all sorts of outdoor activities that I love to do in Spring, such as picnics in the city parks and long strolls all over the city or by the beach.

Blue Monday

December 13, 2015

One of my favourite songs by New Order and one of my favourite “old” classics that I can listen to over and over again without ever getting bored. Quite danceable song for this Monday morning and it totally fits my mood as I have landed in Croatia yesterday and it feels great to wake up all refreshed and with tons of wishes to tick off from my wish list! Super small things, the ones that make life beautiful, such as going to my favourite people at the Farmer’s Market to buy all of the fresh and local produce, having a coffee break in favourite cafe…. Just walking around and totally blending in with the vibe of the small city and it’s “no rush” mentality.

Amour

November 15, 2015

My love… LOVE… Such a short, yet important and BIG word. A feeling that can move mountains! It’s incredible what pure, real and deep love can do!? I also do know what lack of it can cause… What happened last Friday in Paris, France was absolutely horrible and left me in shock, but what made me even more upset is that the LACK of love, common sense and acting in the name of “religion” took away so many innocent lives. Only 2-3 days before the Paris tragedy, horrible blood was spilt in Beirut… Tomorrow it might be your city and the lives taken might be of somebody whom you LOVE, or even your own…
