If you know me at all by reading this blog and by checking my Instagram account, you might have concluded by now how impressed and in love I am with anything Asian, esp. Japanese food, language and traditions. After travelling around the Europe and US, I have experienced wonderful Japanese/ Asian fusion restaurants, out of some have Michelin stars, but little did I know that I would get so positively surprised by discovering some real gems in my own hometown, Helsinki.
Good morning my dear readers! I hope that this week has been going well for you and that wherever you are the weather is in full Autumn’s bliss! 🙂 I can’t believe how fast it gets dark over here in Helsinki?! Each day seems to last shorter and shorter. Driving home yesterday around 4 pm felt as if it would have been 8pm instead. When the weather is gloomy, days are short and we’re all lacking colors around us, I try to not forget that it’s more than welcome to throw on some colorful clothes on before leaving my home.

Good morning dear readers! I woke up early this morning ( just like I do on any other given day ). I’m a busy working mom that doesn’t always get enough of “beauty sleep”, most possibly doesn’t always drink 2 L of water per day either, sometimes has way too much stress and tasks weighing on her shoulders but I do always stay strict with one thing and that is to always, no matter what do my beauty morning and evening routine every single day.
Gaijin is a Japanese word for an “outsider” or “foreigner” . After being an “outsider” for more than 8 years in Helsinki and being a huge Asian food and culture  lover, visiting restaurant GAIJIN was more than exciting! I have been to some of the best Asian restaurants in Europe such as Yauatcha in London and in US such as Katana Robata and Matsuhisa (LA) but I must admit that Gaijin impressed me so much. It can easily meet the standards of such high level as the other three mentioned restaurants.
Seeing how well you’ve responded on my previous post about Jolie Shop, I’m more than happy to introduce you to JOLIE SPA! Yes, as you might guess from the name, these two wonderful places are linked to each other and the experience that I had at their spa is equal to the one when I have visited the store, sweet, small and very personal. The service is simply outstanding and the amount of products and treatments is more than diverse that it meets everybody’s needs and preferences.
Dear readers, I’m bringing you a whole new post from my series “Visit Helsinki” in which I’m presenting you all of the hot spots in the city from shopping and food experience to hotels, museums, etc. I’m very happy and privileged to share a must visit beauty and organic skincare shop in the heart of Helsinki – JOLIE!
After recommending you two jewels of Helsinki’s culinary scene, it’s time to discover the third one. If you find yourself visiting or just stopping by in Helsinki on some of your trips, you must check out restaurant DOMO. I’m a HUGE Japan lover, anything related to Japan from their long and interesting culture, traditions to food is something I’m very passionate about and am always wanting to learn more.
Seeing that you have fell in love with my first post in new series of “Visit Helsinki” posts, I’m continuing by presenting you another gem and a “must” spot when visiting Helsinki. Being born in Russia and half Russian from my mother’s side, the respect for Russian culture, food and traditions has been deeply instilled in me. I have always loved Russian cuisine but due to me growing up in Croatia, the only time I got a chance to eat amazing Russian food was when I would visit my grandparents in Moscow, once or twice a year.
I love Helsinki! Period! 🙂 This city is a little gem in North of Europe and I feel that it somehow get’s “lost” in between Denmark, Sweden and Russia. Only for the past couple of years is that I can see more and more tourists coming and staying in Helsinki, not just passing through/ having a layover.
Is it Friday afternoon already? Oh yes it is and I’m very happy that the weekend is here. I def. need two days to organise myself and put my schedule for the next week in order. I have so much coming/ happening this month which is also my birthday month! Yay! 😀
