How to be kind to yourself? Did you wake up this morning in a hurry, rapidly eating your breakfast while multitasking getting yourself ready, possibly helping your child get ready for the school too and storming off to work already distressed? How to be kind to yourself comes in many different ways or forms and being in a hurry, stressing out, not taking time to pause are all the ways which are not bringing you any self love…

Self love and being kind to yourself goes hand in hand. The more you realise how important it is to be kind to yourself and to be your best friend, the more self love and acceptance you’ll find. If you don’t make it your priority to quit with the stress and take care of yourself from the inside to the outside, nobody will make it their priority, so it’s up to you to decided on how good quality days (and eventually life) you’ll end up having.

I have only recently learned more about how to take care of myself, how to prioritise my own well being… I still have a long way to make it something that comes to me naturally but for now, I’m reminding myself each day to choose wiser for myself and understand that I should never “postpone” being kind to myself.

The more I’m in balance and feeling at peace, the more it reflects on my work, my relationships, my daily choices, etc. Your mood does affect your actions and decisions…

How to be kind to yourself? Here are some of the ways which work for me:

*Get a good amount of sleep, when you don’t sleep your head is all over the place during the daytime and it affects your hormones and quality of life in the long run.

*Take care of your body but don’t forget your soul as well.

*Keep on moving! No matter what, each day I make it a priority to go for a longer walk to get some fresh air and stretch my legs so to say. 😀 If there is time to do some dance class or gym session every now and then, it’s a great bonus but fast paced walks are what I’ve been doing each morning before work.

*Make wise choices about the food which you’re eating. What you put in your mouth is what becomes you, literarily. You are the food you feed yourself.

*Same goes for the soul food, the crap they show on the TV or black chronics in the newspapers, etc. are the things you should declutter from. The information which you process and surround yourself with on daily basis is what creates your reality.

*Take time off from everything and everybody to just be by yourself. I find it that so many people don’t know how to be in quiet, just with themselves or are extremely afraid of being alone with their own thoughts. You need to “check in” with yourself, have a conversation to know where you are, where you’re going and how you’re feeling in general.

I could go on and on with the tips on how to be kind towards yourself but ultimately, everybody should find the way to put themselves first and tune in with their inner selves to fully understand what is it that they need to have a good life and be the happiest and best version of themselves. Don’t wait on happiness, you create your own happiness!

    This is so important! On my current job I always go take a walk outside during my lunch breaks and it helps me SO much! And one of my dreams of 2018 is to eat healthier, and so far I’ve already noticed it helps too!

    I’m feeling much better compared to 3/4 years ago when I was such a bad friend of myself!

    This is such a nice read dear, and I couldnt agree more, especially on taking a time off. Indeed, we all need a break to unwind and relax. It can be a little walk outside, a coffee break, camping (or glamping), unplug for a couple of days in a nice cabin by the lake, etc. It’s healthy for the mind and good for the spirit.
