Friday always seems to come faster than I’m ready for it! They say that the older you get, the days seem to fly by in a blink of an eye and I… I have to agree with this theory. I can’t believe that end of the year is here and that we have experienced the first snow already AND the festive season is in it’s full swing! Pre-Christmas parties are taking place “left and right”, the city has been decorated in Christmas ornaments and lights… Some people have even put up their Christmas trees!!
As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, the snow has arrived to Finland and we’ve been enjoying some brightness and Winter fun ( read: sliding through slippery streets, making first snowman, putting on 4-5 layers of clothes 😀 , etc. ) but as of yesterday, we’re back to Fall like weather, warmer temperatures and pouring rain.
Something that does make me happy about this kind of weather is the styling of my daily outfits, it’s not too cold for “I couldn’t care less how I look like” outfits, but it’s perfectly “chilly” to be more playful and creative with my combos.
Over the past week and half, it got really cold and very Wintery in Helsinki. First snow arrived and so did the low temp., slippery ground and ice tramps everywhere. Trench coats and sneakers were replaced by layers and layers of clothes, Winter coats and boots. I have to admit that I did love the appearance of the snow, but I did not enjoy one bit of coldness and having to wear tons of layers. The forecast savvy people are predicting that the snow will melt away by the end of this week and that the weather will warm up a little before Narnia like snow storms come back again. 🙂
Good Sunday morning my dear readers! It’s time for a third post in my “Sunday cafe” series! I’m happy to introduce you every few weeks to young, inspiring and creative minds which I’m proud to call my friends. After very well accepted posts with two gorgeous girlfriends , Rita and Katherine, it’s turn to balance it all well with a masculine addition – Leo! Leo will present himself properly on his own in the questionnaire below, but I’d like to say a few words as an introduction of this lovely gentleman.
He is one of those people whom I met only short time ago but “hit it off” instantly and feel as if I’ve known him for many years. I feel that as I grow older, I don’t make new friendships that easily anymore, but when I do recognise an alike mind and soul, I will always find “space” for those in my life… So, meet Mr. Leo!
I’ve always been a lover of delicate, feminine, timeless pieces, esp. when it comes to jewellery! I’m a jewellery lover and feel “naked” if I’m not wearing at least one piece on me… Somehow, I feel that none of my looks or outfits aren’t ready unless I have put on that perfect final touch with a favourite jewellery item.
I love book shops… Yes, I’m that girl which is “old fashioned” and will always prefer having a physical book or CD in her hands than to buy it online as kindle or just have it downloaded on my iTunes. As I’m browsing through the rows of massive amount of books, looking for some inspiration as well as a possible Christmas presents to some of my dear people, I come across a book… Book which imprinted a “WHAT?!” type of grin on my face. Continue Reading…
Hah! What a quick change from just a week ago when I wrote about gloomy and rainy weather in my previous “5 for Friday” post!?! We got first snow in Helsinki and that marked Winter’s arrival! As if I wasn’t already unprepared for the cold weather, 1st snow got me by surprise and even though I had almost twice slipped and risked a bad fall on the ice, I do love the fact that the sky had cleared up, some sun came out and I got to see a proper daylight after a while…
What are the odds that while visiting middle of North Europe, Helsinki, you get to experience the charm and romance of Paris? It is possible at restaurant Pastis! Authentic Parisian vibe, delicious food and coziness of the restaurant’s decor could be easily misplaced with any place in Montmartre for instance. Our sweet hostes Camilla told us that there are many Pastis named restaurants in Europe ( in US too, for example in NYC ) but there is only one Pastis in Helsinki and it’s a must visit place.
This blog started years ago as a fun place where I’ve been just sporadically publishing my outfits with almost no text at all or just a few lines and additional photos from my everyday life, but nothing too “constructive” or with any other point than having some sort of online diary and leaving it to the Internet universe to discover my blog and engage or follow if people wanted to. I didn’t put much thought into this whole “blogging” thing up until 2 years ago when I have come to terms that I care about this blog too much to let it go and that I want it to be more than some online diary which is just out there, in the sea of 1 million other active and nonactive, similar blogs.
Good Friday morning my dear readers! Did you have a good week? I love Fridays, they’re always a “mental sign” for me that relaxing weekend is just around the corner, meaning also more time to do fun things and more one-on-one time with my little one. The only thing that was bad about the week so far is the dreadful weather… That kind of chilly, super windy, stormy and rainy, all at once kind of weather. The one in which umbrella doesn’t serve the purpose and the only shoe of choice are my Hunter boots.
