Patched up

July 18, 2016

patches6

Patches are very popular this season! I have seen denim, camo and bomber jackets in stores and online which have some really cute and cool patches on them. I simply couldn’t pass on getting this bomber jacket, mostly because of the patch on the back that says “dream”. Yes… I’m a dreamer… Patched up one!

5 tips for Summer festivals

July 15, 2016

IMG_6358

Summer is my most favourite time of the year! Surprise, surprise, that was SO hard to predict. 😀 Ever since I was little, I was living for Summer and everything that comes with it, endless sunshine, happy times at the beach, swimming my heart out in the sea, eating tons of ice cream and just being carefree.

Kesä on minun suosikki vuoden aika. Ylläty, yllätys, olipa vaikea arvata 🙂 Olen ihan pienestä pitäen elänyt kesälle ja kaikkeen mikä siihen liittyy. Loputon auringonpaiste, iloisia hetkiä rannalla, estoton meressä uiminen, jäätelön syöminen litra kaupalla ja huoleton fiilis.

One of the reasons why I’ve been loving Summer even more as I was growing older was ( and still is ) all of the happenings that seem to happen many times a week, every week, through the whole Summer. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with so many interesting events to go to and so many amazing Summer festivals to check out.

Visit Helsinki: Gaijin

July 13, 2016

gaijin13

I might have been an “outsider” ( translation of Gaijin ) to Gaijin when I have visited it last year, but this time around I knew what I could expect from a long standing Asian fusion kitchen and still one of the top choices in Helsinki to go for a private dining or special occasion one. I was very eager to come back to Gaijin and try the highlights from the new menu.

CLUSE watches

July 11, 2016

clusewatch8

I’m 28 and am only 3 months away from my 29th birthday. I can honestly say that I’m excited to start the last year of my 20s. I’m loving the woman I’m becoming and I’m loving the outlook on life I’ve been carving by collecting all of the ups and downs, learning about my weaknesses and recognising my strengths… I don’t know why is everybody making a big deal about 30s because I can’t wait for my 30s and all of the smarts and confidence that come with them.

5 Instagram pointers

July 8, 2016

IMG_3219

Hello my dear readers and happy Friday! I’ve been thinking about putting up a bit different type of post. My favourite and most used app on my iPhone is def. Instagram and I update my profile 4-5 times per day. I’m nowhere near the girls who have 100k or so followers, but I believe that many of us can’t relate with those profiles to start with, so from my humble but real point of view, I’d like to share some Instagram tips and pointers with you. Please mind that I’m talking only about organic, self brought traffic to an Instagram profile. There’re no payed companies that manage my account nor did I buy any followers and likes. After clearing this out, let’s start with the pointers:

Visit Helsinki: Yume love

July 6, 2016

yume14

There is a saying that love goes through stomach. I can absolutely confess that I did let my heart skip a beat or two each time I ate great food. I’m thankful for being able to explore different cuisines and restaurants in the past and esp. throughout the last year. I could have never believed that I could fall for some food so much that I just had to keep on coming back over and over again for more. 🙂

Introverted extrovert

July 4, 2016

comparison

I grew up in a small village, while that was a blessing because I was protected at all times and I had a huge freedom of living a carefree childhood, playing for as long as I wanted outdoors, hiding in the forest, just sitting by the sea for an hour or even staying at my friend’s place over for lunch without having to inform my family about it ( there was no cellphones but only phones and after only few phone calls around, my parents would know where I was at ). To some extent, growing up in such a small and closed community, it was a bit of problem for me later on in my life. I was scared of being introduced to new people or go out in a big group of people.

Visit Helsinki: Bronda

June 29, 2016

brondapromo15

In my newest post of “Visit Helsinki” cycle of articles, I’m bringing you a full-on review of restaurant Bronda! I did write about this same restaurant a little bit less than a year ago and you can read about it here in case you’ve missed it.

Unlike the 1st time, this time around we’ve been testing out Bronda as a lunch spot and it’s set lunch menu with vegan options too. Even though, it’s not pointed out on Bronda’s website, they do serve vegetarian and vegan options as well as a set menu during lunchtime too. You can either call them in advance and pre-order your vegan/ vegetarian options or you can just walk in and let them surprise you. They’re very skilled personnel, in the kitchen as chefs and as a very friendly and quick service.

Visit Helsinki: Savu

June 22, 2016

savu14

It’s been a little bit over 8 years since I have moved to Helsinki. No matter where I go, to known or the unknown cities/ countries, I always love to wonder around and discover new, exciting and interesting spots. I was so happy when I found out that even after 8 years of living here, there are some undiscovered places in Helsinki which I was more than happy to visit and find out what makes them so special. One of those places was the island Tervasaari! I took a walk from the city center all the way to Tervasaari ( it’s easily accessible via small bridge ) and it took me about 30 mins of nice and slow paced walk. I believe that with the car, getting to Tervasaari, even in the worst of traffic it wouldn’t take you longer than 15 mins.
