Stepping outside… Fresh, crisp Fall air hits my cheeks and the sunny, but cold rays of sunshine blindfold me for a moment as I start walking off into yet another day of 12-ish hours of breathing, living, moving, feeling, dreaming… Consciously, until I fall asleep and do all of that unconsciously. First ever to open restaurant by Matti Wikberg and Tomi Björck was Farang. After Farang came another 4 restaurants which create BW restaurants that are equally successful and operating in Helsinki ,Finland and Stockholm, Sweden.
Farang brings your senses on a foodie trip to Southeast Asia, with strong Thai influences, where the “magic” of food lies in sharing it from big bowls and eating a lot of the dishes by using either spoon or with fingers.

Funny fact about me: I used to be into interior decor for many years and I was so serious about it that I wanted to study it. That was up until the moment I have realised that a lot of “counting & calculating”, meaning mathematics was involved in those studies, so I gave up on the idea of studying interior decor. Even though I never ended up being a professional at this, I did always kept my fire and interest burning for decorating and re-organising spaces, namely my own home(s).

I’ve been approached by kind people at Zaful whom wanted me to choose a piece of clothing and as soon as I saw this dress, I knew that I wanted to have it. It’s so “me” since I’m a big sucker for anything feminine and floral.

Just when I thought that I have experienced pretty much everything that Helsinki has to offer, I was proven SO wrong by visiting restaurant Saaristo! Visit Helsinki cycle of posts brings us to another gem on Helsinki’s gastronomy scene, Finnish traditional cuisine presented in a fine dining way. I’d say that restaurant Saaristo is situated on a wonderful location to take your significant other for a romantic trip/ dinner or organise a celebration, such as your own wedding perhaps.
I’ve been eagerly waiting to present you the new, hottest and most awaited opening of a restaurant in Helsinki’s food scene – Roster! In my “Visit Helsinki” section, I’m happy to write about this “newborn” but don’t be fooled, it’s partially owned by big chain of great restaurants “Royal Ravintolat” and is ran by three skilled, passionate and with a long careers in their pockets, chefs Kari Aihinen, Olli Kolu and Burt Kotkavuori, all originating from a fine dining, one of the longest standing kitchens of Savoy restaurant. Let’s not forget to mention Mr.Boss – Paul Hickman, overlooking everything and equally putting in as much love and dedication.
Olen odottanut malttamattomana sitä hetkeä että saan esitellä teille tämän uuden, hotin ja todella odotetun Helsinkiläisen ruoka skene tulokkaan, Rosterin! Olen niin iloinen saadessani esitellä teille tämän tulokkaan minun Visit Helsinki sarjassani. Mutta älkää antako tulokas sanan hämätä. Sillä sen omistaa osittain iso ketju nimeltään Royal Ravintolat. Joka valvoo koko ravintolan toimintaa, antaen yhtälailla rakkautta ja omistautuneisuutta tähän projektiin.
I’m 28 and am only 3 months away from my 29th birthday. I can honestly say that I’m excited to start the last year of my 20s. I’m loving the woman I’m becoming and I’m loving the outlook on life I’ve been carving by collecting all of the ups and downs, learning about my weaknesses and recognising my strengths… I don’t know why is everybody making a big deal about 30s because I can’t wait for my 30s and all of the smarts and confidence that come with them.
Olen 28 vuotias ja 3 kuukauden päässä 29 vuotis synttäreistäni. Ja voin rehellisesti sanoa että olen innoissani siitä että viimeinen vuosi on alkamassa ennen kolmekyppisiäni. Rakastan sitä naista joksi minä olen muuttumassa. Ja rakastan sitä elämänkatsomusta jota olen veistämässä itselleni keräämällä ylä- ja alamäkiä matkallani. Opin ymmärtämään heikkouteni ja vahvuuteni… En oikeen ymmärrä sitä että miksi kaikki tekevät siitä niin suuren numeron että täyttää kolmekymmentä. Maltan tuskin odottaa sitä hetkeä ja sitä viisautta ja itsevarmuutta jonka se tuo mukanaan.
In my newest post of “Visit Helsinki” cycle of articles, I’m bringing you a full-on review of restaurant Bronda! I did write about this same restaurant a little bit less than a year ago and you can read about it here in case you’ve missed it.
Unlike the 1st time, this time around we’ve been testing out Bronda as a lunch spot and it’s set lunch menu with vegan options too. Even though, it’s not pointed out on Bronda’s website, they do serve vegetarian and vegan options as well as a set menu during lunchtime too. You can either call them in advance and pre-order your vegan/ vegetarian options or you can just walk in and let them surprise you. They’re very skilled personnel, in the kitchen as chefs and as a very friendly and quick service.
