Hygge with Pandora

Hygge, a Norwegian word for “wellbeing” or in my “books” known as hedonism! 🙂 I guess that by now, everybody has heard about Hygge and an art of living in a cosy, high quality, self loving way. At first I thought that the word was silly and all those books which were being sold out on “how to hygge” were too hipster. I gave the whole wellbeing movement a second thought and I have realised that leading hygge way of life is one of the best things you can do for yourself!

To me, to know how to hygge means to know how to live, eat and feel well. I always say that even a little bit of self love goes a long way. If you can’t find time to take care of yourself, do things which make you happy, put yourself in the first place when needed… You can’t love, understand or take care of others either.

Up until not that long time ago, I felt very guilty if I would treat myself something nice, if I would indulge in something, if I would allow myself to feel good, feel lazy, feel sad, go and travel alone, etc. Even though I knew that I deserve all of it, I have been depriving myself way too many times and instead giving everything and doing everything to and for others. While I did feel good for selflessly giving my time and attention to others or always been there for everybody, I have at the same time felt worn out, always lacking energy and at the end, very stressed out and unhappy.

When I felt this way, I would usually not be the best company to be around… It took me a long time to understand that only I can break that “vicious” cycle by finally “hugging” myself and allowing myself to live life to the fullest.

When I have started to fully live hygge way of living is when I have truly understood what it means to lead a good quality life and enjoy the smallest of things on day to day basis.

One of my favourite ways to do hygge is to dress up, go out for a nice lunch or dinner with my favourite people. About a week ago I went for a lunch with my brother at Yacht Club of D-resort hotel in Sibenik, Croatia.

Simple but cute lunchtime restaurant/ yacht club was a perfect location to enjoy the delicious meals with sights over beautiful nature, pool and a cocktail bar.

Wearing my favourite jewellery by Pandora and a red lipstick by Mac have totally helped feel even more sure about my newly and fully embraced way of living. 🙂

Now go and hygge the *hit out of yourself! 😀
